Every GTA Vice City vehicle cheat

GTA Vice City vehicle cheats spawn ten different rides next to Tommy, from the Rhino tank to a golf caddy, and a second set of traffic cheats changes how every car in the city drives, looks and even flies. Which Vice City spawn should you pick?

Each spawn has a job. Here is how they stack up in practice.

Rhino Tank (PANZER): for when the police show up

The Rhino is the toughest vehicle in Vice City, and PANZER is the single most famous cheat in the game. It soaks up gunfire, crushes the cars it drives into and its cannon blows up anything that gets in the way. It is slow and turns like a fridge, but on a five-star wanted level you will not care. Drive it over the causeways and watch the police give up.

Hotring Racers: the fastest spawns

GETTHEREVERYFASTINDEED and GETTHEREAMAZINGLYFAST each spawn a Hotring Racer, a stock-car-style racer that is far quicker than anything you will find in normal traffic. These are the cars to pick for long drives across the map, for testing COMEFLYWITHME (more speed means easier take-off), or for Unique Stunt Jumps where you need serious momentum.

Sabre Turbo (GETTHEREFAST): muscle car style

The Sabre Turbo is a muscle car with a strong engine and plenty of attitude. It is quick in a straight line, heavy enough to bully traffic, and looks right at home on Ocean Drive. A great all-rounder when you want something faster than street traffic but more road-friendly than a racer.

Bloodring Bangers: the demolition derby cars

TRAVELINSTYLE and GETTHEREQUICKLY each spawn a Bloodring Banger, the battered derby cars from the stadium event. They are sturdy and built for contact, which makes them good for ramming. TRAVELINSTYLE is one of the shortest spawn codes in the game, at just eight inputs.

Love Fist Limo (ROCKANDROLLCAR): roll up in style

The stretch limo belonging to Love Fist, the in-game rock band. Long, not especially quick, and comically awkward around corners, but nothing says “1986 rock star” quite like it.

Romero Hearse (THELASTRIDE), Trashmaster (RUBBISHCAR) and Caddy (BETTERTHANWALKING)

These are the joke spawns. The hearse is grimly funny, the Trashmaster is a slow and heavy garbage truck that is surprisingly useful for shoving cars around, and the Caddy is a golf cart that lives up to its PC code: better than walking, but only just. Try taking the Caddy over a jump with COMEFLYWITHME active for a cheap laugh.

What Vice City vehicle cheats are missing

Vice City has no cheat to spawn a helicopter, plane, boat or motorbike. If you want the Hunter, the Sea Sparrow, a PCJ-600 or a speedboat, you have to find or unlock them in the world. Spawns are only half the story. Vice City’s traffic cheats change the behaviour or appearance of every vehicle around you.

Flying cars and flying boats

COMEFLYWITHME and AIRSHIP turn Vice City into an air show. Cars need real speed before they lift, so start on a long straight; the bridges between the mainland and the beach are perfect. Boats with AIRSHIP active behave in a similar way once they get going. Both are fun and both are fiddly, so expect a few crashes before you get the hang of steering.

Notice that COMEFLYWITHME and SEAWAYS share their first five inputs: Right, R2, Circle, R1, L2. Learn that opener and the two codes become easy to remember.

SEAWAYS: the safety net

SEAWAYS lets cars drive across water as if it were road. On its own it is a neat shortcut between islands. Combined with COMEFLYWITHME it is a safety net: if you come down over the bay, you skim instead of sinking.

Handling and traffic lights

GRIPISEVERYTHING gives any car near-perfect grip through corners, and GREENLIGHT keeps traffic lights green. Together they make cruising the city far smoother, especially in slippery cars or at night.

Traffic chaos

MIAMITRAFFIC makes other drivers reckless and aggressive. AHAIRDRESSERSCAR paints all traffic pink, IWANTITPAINTEDBLACK paints it black, and WHEELSAREALLINEED leaves only the wheels visible. BIGBANG blows up every nearby vehicle and is flagged risky: it destroys mission vehicles too, so do not use it mid-mission.

Tips for spawning vehicles

• Use open ground. Spawns appear next to Tommy. In tight alleys they can clip into walls or other cars.
• Spawning repeatedly is fine. If your car is wrecked, just enter the code again.
• Watch your current mission. Spawning is usually harmless, but the traffic chaos cheats can interfere with missions.
