GTA 6 Cheats: What We Know Before Launch

Are there GTA 6 cheats right now?

No. There are no confirmed GTA 6 cheats as of November 7, 2026. Grand Theft Auto VI has not launched yet, Rockstar has not published or teased any cheat codes, and nobody outside the studio has had the chance to find them. Any “GTA 6 cheats” list you see today, whether it is a video, a TikTok or a clickbait article, cannot have been tested on the real game.

What we can do is tell you exactly where things stand, what the history of the series suggests, and what to watch for once the game is out. This page will be updated as soon as real, verified codes appear.

This is an unofficial fan site with no connection to Rockstar Games or Take-Two. We will not post a GTA 6 code until it has been confirmed by players on the released game.

GTA 6 release date and status

Here is what has been officially announced, as of early November 2026:

Detail	Current status
Release date	Thursday, November 19, 2026
Platforms	PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S
PC version	No date announced
Setting	The state of Leonida, including a modern Vice City
Protagonists	Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval
Pre-load	Starts November 10, 2026, according to Rockstar’s announcement as reported by Game Informer
Cheat codes	Not announced or confirmed

The road to that date was long. Rockstar released the first trailer in December 2023 with a 2025 release window. In May 2025 the game moved to May 26, 2026, and in November 2025 Rockstar pushed it again to November 19, 2026, saying the extra months were needed for polish. Take-Two has since repeated the November date in its investor updates, and pre-load details went out in early November 2026. Game Informer reported the pre-load download at around 212 GB, so clear some space.

GTA 5 came to PC about a year and a half after its console debut, so a later PC release for GTA 6 would fit the pattern, but Rockstar has not announced one.

Has Rockstar confirmed cheats for GTA 6?

No. Rockstar has not mentioned cheat codes in its trailers, Newswire posts or store listings. That is normal. Rockstar has never announced cheats ahead of a GTA launch. Historically, codes surfaced after release, through official strategy guides, magazines, cheat websites, or players and dataminers digging into the game files.

So the silence tells us nothing either way. Expect clarity in the days and weeks after November 19.

What GTA history suggests

Cheats are part of the series’ DNA. Every mainline single-player Grand Theft Auto so far has shipped with some form of cheat system. The input method has changed with each generation:

Era	Game	How you entered cheats
Top-down	GTA 1 and GTA 2	Typing a special word as your player name
PS2 trilogy	GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas	Button combos on console; typed phrases on PC
HD Liberty City	GTA IV	Dialling phone numbers on Niko’s in-game phone
Los Santos	GTA V	Button combos, a PC console box, and 1-999 phone numbers

That evolution points in one direction: towards cheats that feel like they belong in the world. GTA IV hid them in the phone, and GTA V kept the button combos but added phone numbers such as 1-999-887-853 for health and armor (TURTLE on the PC console). Our GTA 5 phone cheats guide shows how that system works.

For a deeper look at how all of this developed, read our history of GTA cheat codes.

What to expect from GTA 6 cheats

This section is educated guesswork, clearly labelled as such.

• Cheats will probably exist. Breaking a streak that runs back to 1997 would be a big call, and cheats are a beloved part of the brand.
• The phone is the obvious home. Lucia and Jason are modern characters in a modern Leonida, and both GTA IV and GTA V used a smartphone for cheats. A phone-based method would be the most natural fit.
• Button combos may or may not return. GTA V kept them, partly because players love them. Whether GTA VI does is an open question.
• Restrictions are likely. GTA V disables trophies and achievements for the session when you use a cheat. Something similar in GTA 6 would not be surprising.
• No online cheats. Single-player cheats have never worked in GTA Online, and there is no reason to expect a GTA 6 online mode to be different.

Things we would love to see, purely as fans: a jetpack cheat in the spirit of San Andreas, a weather cheat for hurricane season in Leonida, and an option to cheat without losing trophies on a separate save. None of that is announced.

Beware fake “GTA 6 cheats”

Search for GTA 6 cheats and you will find videos with confident thumbnails, “leaked” code lists and articles claiming to have the full set. They are not real. Here is how to spot them:

1. They predate the game. No one has played the retail game before launch, so no one can have tested a code.
2. They recycle old codes. Many lists are GTA 5 sequences with new names. If you see the exact GTA 5 tank or parachute combo, that is a giveaway.
3. They promise money cheats. GTA 5 had no money cheat at all. Claims of a “GTA 6 unlimited money code” are a classic bait.
4. They link to downloads. Any “cheat tool” or “mod menu” offered for an unreleased game is a malware risk. Do not install it.
5. They mention GTA Online money. Anything that promises free online cash is a scam or a ban waiting to happen. See our GTA Online cheats guide for why.

A good rule: if a source cannot tell you where a code came from, it did not come from the game.

When will real GTA 6 cheats be found?

If GTA VI follows the pattern of earlier games, the first genuine codes should surface within days of launch, either from printed or digital guides or from players testing inputs and phone numbers on the retail game. Confirmation takes a little longer, because a real code needs to be reproduced by several people on more than one platform. Until that happens, a code is a rumour, however polished the thumbnail. We would rather be a day late than publish something that wastes your time or tanks a save.

What to do while you wait

If you are itching to cheat in Los Santos before Leonida opens, the GTA 5 cheats hub has every verified code for consoles, PC and phone. You can also practise classic combos with the cheat trainer, so your thumbs are ready if Rockstar brings button codes back.

How we will update this page

Once GTA VI is out, we will:

• Add codes only after they are confirmed by multiple trustworthy sources or by our own testing on the retail game.
• Note which platforms each code works on and how to enter it.
• Flag any side effects, such as disabled trophies, achievements or saving.
• Keep the fake-cheat warnings, because they will not stop once the game launches.

Until then, the honest answer is the boring one: GTA 6 cheats are not known yet. Bookmark this page, and be suspicious of anyone who claims otherwise.
